A bit of a gruesome picture of a Black Fruit Bat from our local colony who was one of thousands who died in a recent heat wave.
It is easy to see these large colonies as a nuisance or worse but they are such a vital part of our local ecology and as this photos shows, are vulnerable to a wide range of threats.
