The final image in the series: An experimental shot with an off camera flash hiding behind the Xanthorrhoea (Grass tree) triggered with a radio transmitter on a front curtain sync (This mean the flash fires at the start of the exposure not at the end). The camera was hand held and a shutter speed of 4 seconds used to capture the sunset colours. The initial flash freezes the Xanthorrhoea leaves then the camera was ‘swirled’ about to achieve the blurry background. I was hoping to find one with a clean background but this was the best I could find in the fading light.
