Had a great afternoon canoeing on Nudgee creek with my Dad a couple of weeks ago – it was low tide and there were so many crabs on the mangrove flats. Heaps of seagulls and Black Winged stilts but we also spotted a Pied Oystercatcher, an Osprey and a pair of Brahminy Kites and watched one of them take a fish from the water.

It’s a great paddle and options with a short portage to also explore Nudgee and Cabbage Tree Creeks and if you have a sea kayak – Moreton Bay. There is also a fantastic walking track through the Nudgee end which includes a bird hide overlooking the foreshore.
